Both ranges of the Usambaras are attractive unique and well worth a weekend visit. According to it’s interest the visitor may even stay longer. Day walks and overnight treks take the visitor through some of the most concentrated areas of biodiversity in Africa, they are a treasure house of botanical and 200 logical diversity with a huge number of endemic trees and plant species.
Lushoto is the starting point for many interesting cultural walks and hikes. One-day trips can include a rainforest tour, a tour to Irente Viewpoint or to the Soni waterfalls. You may learn about villagers’ activities, visit local medicine men and go on a guided tour through the fertile farm land.
